Επίσης θα πρέπει να υπάρξει σχέδιο συνολικής διασύνδεσης των ποδηλατικών διαδρομών.
Τέλος αν η τροχαία (ή κάποιος άλλος οργανισμός) δεν ελέγχει σε μια συστηματική βάση την λειτουργία των ποδηλατοδρόμων στο κέντρο και δεν υπάρξει επαρκής ενημέρωση των οδηγών και των καταστηματαρχών οι ποδηλατόδρομοι θα «φυτοζωούν».
